Jason received his BFA in illustration from Brigham Young University and later completed his MFA in painting through a residence program in Italy with the American University of Washington D.C. He was featured in Southwest Art magazine as an “Artist to Watch” of 2002. In June of 2002, he was a featured artist in Southwest Art magazine’s Annual Artist to Watch exhibition in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Recently he received a Purchase Award in the First Annual Plein Air Paint-Out in Antioch, California. He has exhibited in numerous one man and group exhibitions across the country and in Europe. Along with doing freelance illustration, Jason enjoys painting a variety of subject matter including figurative, still life and landscape work. He enjoys teaching and is currently a part-time instructor at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, California. He lives with his wife Shelley and 4 boys Benjamin, Isaac, Grayson, and Tyler in Antioch, California.
